Come Over Rover - home-style daycamp and training!

At Come Over Rover Doggy Daycamp we know your dogs are more than just pets...

they’re an important part of your family!

This is why we provide realistic, practical training and in-home doggy daycare in Shawnigan Lake to help your Rover be the best he can be!

Our professional trainer-supervised daycare provides a home atmosphere where you’ll find no chain-link pens, tiny dog runs or kennels.  We welcome your dogs into our home as if they were our own!

At our daycamp you can rest assured that your pet will receive as much attention, affection, guidance and love as they would in your own home...with the extra added bonus of socialization with our other furry visitors.

We are fully insured, pet CPR & first aid certified, reasonably priced, very experienced and LOVE what we do.  Our large dog-friendly home is situated on two forested acres, conveniently located on Malta Road in Shawnigan Lake.

Trainer Tara and The Gang

Tara is Come Over Rover's owner, trainer and pet care specialist...and she adores what she does.

Animals have been a part of Tara's career for almost two decades.  She has worked across the country in all facets of dog care, including boarding, fostering and training. Her extensive experience and education mean your dog will be in very capable hands.

Tara is constantly updating her animal-related education, including courses in animal psychology and behaviour. Most recently and notably, in 2018 Tara completed an intensive professional canine trainer's course with Tug Dogs Coaching in California.

She is fully insured and certified in pet first aid and CPR.  Your dog’s safety and happiness are her top priority.

Tara knows that dogs do best in an environment where they feel safe, comfortable and loved.  Based on this belief, she works hard to provide an atmosphere where pets can feel at home.

Tara understands that boundaries and consistency are extremely important for a happy and healthy dog (and a sane pet owner!).  She will work with you to ensure the training and rules you have created for your pet are followed while your pup is in her care.

Other members of the family include Tara's dog-enthusiast partner Greg, their mixed breed rescue dog, Irie, as well as two elusive outdoor rescue cats, Cake and Helen.
